Soccer has been more than a game to me; it has been a path of growth, challenge, and inspiration. My journey started when I was just five years old, kicking a ball around with friends in the neighborhood. Over the years, my passion for the sport grew stronger, especially in sixth grade when I realized soccer was not just fun but a part of who I wanted to be. This passion eventually took me overseas at the end of eighth grade, a milestone that marked a new chapter in my life. Throughout this journey, one person stood out as a guiding force: Coach Donald. His influence shaped my skills, mindset, and ultimately my decision to become a coach myself.

Early Experiences with Soccer

I still remember the first time I laced up my cleats and stepped onto the field. At five years old, soccer was a simple joy—running after the ball, scoring goals, and playing with friends. Those early days were about discovery and fun, but they laid the foundation for everything that came next.

By the time I reached sixth grade, my interest in soccer had deepened. I started paying attention to the finer details of the game: positioning, teamwork, and strategy. I wanted to improve, to be better than I was the day before. This drive pushed me to join more competitive teams and attend extra training sessions.

Growing Passion and Playing Overseas

The turning point came at the end of eighth grade when I had the opportunity to play overseas. This experience was eye-opening. It exposed me to different playing styles, cultures, and levels of competition. It was challenging but rewarding, and it fueled my desire to keep improving.

Playing abroad taught me discipline and resilience. I learned how to adapt quickly to new environments and how to handle pressure on and off the field. These lessons were crucial for my development as a player and as a person.

The Role of N.G. in My Development

Coach Donald, as the founder of NG Soccer Academy, was more than a coach—he was the one building the vision in real time. Watching him start the company from the ground up and stay involved every step of the way showed me what leadership looks like: consistency, sacrifice, and showing up even when no one is watching.

From day one, NG wasn’t just about developing players’ skills—it was about building character and confidence through the process. One of the biggest lessons I took from Coach Donald and the way he built NG was the value of hard work and consistency. He always said, “Talent gets you noticed, but hard work keeps you playing,” and seeing him live that out while growing NG made it stick even more.

Training Methods and Lessons That Inspired Me

N.G.’s training sessions were intense, structured, and always tied to a purpose. At N.G. Soccer Academy, the focus is on building complete players through strong fundamentals—ball control, passing accuracy, and spatial awareness—then applying those skills in game-like situations. One of the most effective parts of training was the small-sided games, where quick decisions, communication, and teamwork were non-negotiable.

N.G. also emphasizes the mental side of development. Through tools like visualization and goal-setting, players learn how to stay locked in, respond to setbacks, and carry confidence into matches. That mindset—paired with consistent, high-level training—is a big part of what makes the N.G. approach different.

Transition to Coaching Kids

After years of playing, I found myself drawn to coaching. I wanted to give back and inspire young players the way Coach Donald once inspired me—and that’s exactly what N.G. Soccer Academy is built on.

Coaching kids has been a rewarding experience. It’s about more than teaching skills; it’s about building confidence and a real love for the game. At N.G., we focus on creating a supportive environment where players feel encouraged to try, fail, and improve. Watching their progress reminds me of my own journey and the impact the right coaching and culture can have.

Overcoming Injuries and the Importance of Mentorship

Injuries are part of every athlete’s journey, and I faced my share. Recovery tested my patience and determination, but N.G. Soccer Company helped me stay motivated, consistent, and focused on clear recovery goals.

Mentorship in sports goes beyond physical training—it provides support and guidance through challenges. At N.G. , that mentorship reinforced resilience and reminded me how important it is to have a team that believes in you, especially when the process gets tough.

Final Thoughts on My Soccer Journey

Looking back, my soccer journey has been shaped by passion, hard work, and the influence of a great mentor. N.G.’s impact goes beyond the field; he taught me life lessons that continue to guide me as a coach and a person.

For anyone pursuing their passion, remember that success is a combination of talent, effort, and the right support. Whether you are a player or a coach, the relationships you build and the lessons you learn will shape your path.
